Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of the Santa Barbara Insulation & Spray Foam website and any work you book with us. By using the site, asking for an estimate or scheduling a job, you agree to them, so please read them before you do.

If anything here is unclear, ask us before you book. You can reach us through our contact page or by calling (805) 284-9538.

What we do

We're an insulation contractor in Santa Barbara, CA, and we work in homes and businesses in the city and the cities around it. Our work includes attic, wall, crawl space and basement insulation, spray foam, blown-in insulation, air sealing, vapor barriers and removing old insulation.

The pages on this site, starting with our home page, describe our services in general terms. What we'll actually do at your property is what's written in your estimate, because every attic and crawl space is different.

Estimates and pricing

Our estimates are free and done in person, and you're under no pressure to book. We look at the space, the material already there, how it's vented and what has to be sealed before we write down a price.

An estimate covers the work it describes. Some things only show up once the job is open, like insulation that's wet or full of droppings, damaged framing or wiring that isn't safe to cover. When that happens, we stop, explain what we found and get your OK on any added work and cost before we go further.

Prices on an estimate are good for the period written on it. After that, we may need to look at the job again before we confirm a price.

Scheduling, rescheduling and cancelling

We set a start date with you once you accept the estimate. Weather, material deliveries and problems found on other jobs can move a date, and if ours moves, we'll tell you as soon as we know.

If you need to reschedule or cancel, let us know as early as you can, since we hold crew time and order material for your job. If you cancel after material has been ordered or work has started, you'll pay for the material and the work done up to that point.

On the day of the job, please give our crew clear access to the attic, crawl space or other work area. For foam jobs, follow the re-entry time we give you, which is when it's safe for people and pets to come back inside, because it depends on the product and the space.

Payment

Payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are written on your estimate or contract. If those papers say something different from this page, the papers for your job win.

Payment is due on the dates listed. If a payment is late, we may pause unfinished work until it's settled, and you'll owe any reasonable costs of collecting what's past due, as far as California law allows.

Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover

Santa Barbara Insulation & Spray Foam is fully licensed and insured, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something about the work we did isn't right, call us and we'll come back and make it right.

The guarantee covers our workmanship. It doesn't cover damage from roof leaks, plumbing leaks, pests, other trades working in the space after us, changes you make to the area, or problems in the house that were there before we came. Materials carry the maker's own warranty, and we'll pass along any maker's terms that apply to your job.

We can't promise a set drop in your power bill or a set temperature in any room, because those depend on your house, your heating and cooling, and how you use them. Information on this website is general and isn't advice for your specific home.

Limits on our liability

To the extent California law allows, our total responsibility for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We aren't responsible for indirect losses, such as lost income or the cost of staying elsewhere, unless the law says otherwise.

Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that can't be limited under California law, including for injury caused by our negligence.

Settling a disagreement

If you're unhappy with something, call us first, because most problems get fixed fastest with a visit and a conversation. We'll look at it with you and tell you plainly what we can do.

If we can't settle it between us, either of us may bring the matter in small claims court or in the courts of Santa Barbara County, California.

California law

These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California. If a court finds any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted here is the one that applies when you use the site or book a job. A job already under contract stays under the terms you agreed to when you booked it.

You can learn more about us on our about page. For questions about these terms or a job, call (805) 284-9538 or use our contact page, and we reply within 1 business day.
